I cannot remember just when I started tying, it’s always been part of my life ( I come from a fishing family).  I have no particular favourite type or style of fly, I enjoy everything from small, micro flies for wild trout and coarse fish to large predator flies for pike and saltwater species to classic salmon flies. The part of fly tying that I enjoy and interests me the most is the innovation of new flies for specific purposes, before any trip I will always take time to tie up a few new ideas to find out whether or not it works and to improve the fly when I get back.

I owe a lot of my knowledge to the people I have met over the years at shows and at demonstrations and I have been very lucky to meet some of the greats of our sport and my appreciation for this is massive.

In fly fishing we are always learning new techniques as it is constantly evolving and changing with the time and I am very happy helping people and sharing what I have been taught over the years.
