One for a bigger wave on our lochs for wild fish or perhaps dead of night surface wake lure style fishing on rivers for sea trout, the Olive Peter is simply a variation I like of the Green Peter Muddler.

Excellent in an olive or light green sedge hatch, not too shabby just as a general searching pattern either, this is a fly I’d chose to fish on the “Bob” position on a “Team” of flies fished “Short Line Loch Style” or allowed to swing across a wave dead drift from the bank.

Designed to draw fish up onto the surface in a big rolling wave, like all muddlers used this way, it’s best if treated with floatant (Hunts Gel perfect for this) so it creates a wake across the surface, or “pops” back up if pulled (drawing it below the surface) and a pause then left in the retrieve.
